Baldur’s Gate 3: Pre-load times for PS5

In just a couple of short weeks, you will be able to play Larian Studios hit sensation Baldur’s Gate 3 on the PS5. On August 3, Baldur’s Gate 3 exited the Early Access stage of their game after more than two years. Since the full release, Larian Studios have had a ton of positive feedback. Gamers have been loving what they have seen thus far, and a new wave of Baldur’s Gate players will surface when Baldur’s Gate 3 goes live on PlayStation 5 to everyone on September 6.

For those of you who were familiar with the full release of Baldur’s Gate 3 on PC, you might remember how hefty the game was. The PC version came in at 122 GBs. This was a massive download size for PC gamers and because of this large size, gamers were wondering about a pre-load prior to the full release.

Unfortunately, there was no pre-load available for the PC version. However, now the question is being asked about a pre-load for the PlayStation 5 version. Luckily, Larian Studios will allow PlayStation 5 gamers to pre-load the game early.

If you purchased the Digital Deluxe Edition of Baldur’s Gate 3 for PlayStation 5, your pre-load will begin earlier than the Standard Edition release date. As part of purchasing the Digital Deluxe Edition, you are granted early access to the game on PlayStation 5. Since you will be able to play 4 days early on September 2, preloading will begin on August 31.

However, not everyone opted to purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition and instead opted in to purchase the Standard Edition. If you are a Standard Edition purchaser, your pre-load will begin on September 4. This gives you two days early to download the game and prepare for the full release on PlayStation 5 on September 6. Standard Edition gamers will not be able to access the game on September 4, but at least you can have it downloaded and ready to play by September 6.

Baldur’s Gate 3 had a couple of hiccups at the start of the full PC release, but that is expected with just about any game. Those small hiccups have not stopped Baldur’s Gate 3 full release from being a mega hit and I am sure the same is going to be said for PlayStation 5 gamers when they have the chance to play it in just a couple short weeks.

If you haven’t gotten the chance to get your pre-orders in, you still have plenty of time to do so. The Early Access perk as part of the Digital Deluxe Edition can be a bit enticing and is well worth it if you plan on spending a lot of you video game time on this RPG.
