TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge survival mode let’s you play as the villain

Dotemu announced today a brand new DLC survival mode for TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge due out later this year. Named Dimension Shellshock, the new mode pits you against wave after wave of enemies with new abilities, new environmental features and even the ability to mutate into your favorite villain.

As part of the recently announced Dimension Shellshock DLC, Survival Mode introduces collectible crystals that allow you to jump from dimension to dimension, with each dimension featuring its own unique look and feel. The extended footage tours the Edo dimension, inspired by Japan; the four Turtles in 8-bit backgrounds; and Splinter, Casey, April and Usagi in Omnichannel 6. The new mode allows players to level up and grow stronger through runs across dimensions. After they die and have collected enough crystals, they unlock a new life, ninja power bars, Radical Mode and extra hit points. Players will also be granted the ability to skip dimensions, and Dimension Shellshock will come complete with flashy new character colors.

Some of the new environmental concerns will be wind gusts throwing you into enemy attacks. You’ll also benefit from some of these with things such as low gravity letting you jump much higher. Passing levels will grant you abilities to select such as mutating into your enemies to play as for a few rounds, move much faster or even do more damage while taking more damage as well. There is a whole bunch of new additions to the game with over 100 levels to play. Of course, and yes, you will be able to play as Shredder if you get the mutation ooze and opt to do so when completing a round.

TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge Dimension Shellshock will be out later this year on all platforms the game is on. No exact date has been announced yet, but we’ll let you know more as soon as we hear.
