Everything you need to know about EA Sports FC 24

EA Sports FC 24 has been one of the most talked about soccer games of recent years simply because the franchise isn’t being called “FIFA” anymore. With such a big change happening in one of EA’s prized sports franchises, many gamers couldn’t wait to see how this change would be affecting the upcoming video game. The speculation can now tone down a bit because EA Sports just finished up with its EA Sports FC 24 reveal livestream over on YouTube.

EA Sports FC 24 launces on Sept. 29 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. This was be the franchise’s first release under the new name “EA Sports FC.”

New additions coming to EA Sports FC 24

EA Sports announced that for the first time ever, women players would be available in Ultimate Team. This isn’t the first sports franchise from EA that we have seen women players be a part of Ultimate Team. EA Sports’ NHL 23’s Hockey Ultimate Team saw women athletes take part in the game mode for the first time ever. However, this is the next major step to see these incredibly talent women being integrated into the franchise’s biggest game mode.

Another cool new feature coming to EA Sports FC 24 is the ability to recreate special moments from live matches. EA Sports described this as the game taking footage from live matches that have occurred and the player would then be able to recreate some iconic or special moments in the video game itself. These are some of the biggest additions coming when the game is released this September.

EA Sports FC 24 will also be using the Frostbite Engine, along with Hypermotion V and PlayStyles. Hypermotion V was added to create more realism throughout the game by “using volumetric data of more than 180 top-tier matches from competitions like the UEFA Men’s and Women’s Champions League, Premier League and LaLiga EA SPORTS.”

PlayStyles is also a way to make more athletes feel a bit more realistic to use. PlayStyles will bring to life players abilities that they use in real games to make using those players feel like the real deal.

Of course, there will also be returning features from the FIFA days. The Champions League, English Premier League, and tons of other features and game modes that you love will also be making their way into EA Sports FC 24. Other features that are returning are Career Mode and Manager Mode. Except they will be more updated with tons of new features added to them to make them better than ever before.

On one last side note, if you are someone who plays Pro Clubs, you will be happy to know that the game mode will now feature same gen cross-play. This also means that this will provide “unified leaderboards so that players from different consoles can compete against one another for global placement.” If you own a PlayStation 5, you will be able to cross-play with Xbox Series X|S players. If you own a PlayStation 4, you will be able to cross-play with Xbox One players. If you own and Nintendo Switch, there is no cross-play gameplay for that console.

Now that we know a lot more about EA Sports FC 24, we have a better idea of what to expect from the changing over from FIFA. I know the change may have freaked out a handful of gamers, but EA Sports FC 24 is set to feature over 19,000 licensed players, over 30 leagues, and over 100 recreated stadiums. There is still going to be tons of great content featured within the game with tons of new features and additions. It is just going to take some time to get used to the name change.
