New PS5 and PS4 games releasing in January 2023
As we countdown the end of 2022 and look ahead to the New Year, Sony and friends are kicking off what looks to be a very promising 2023 with a bang. Persona re-releases, a former Switch game coming to PS5, a remake of a beloved horror classic and a brand new IP from Square Enix await us in January. Let’s take a look at some of the upcoming PS5 and PS4 games releasing in January 2023.

There’s quite a lot to be excited about in January. Forspoken, of course, is one of 2023’s most anticipated PlayStation exclusives. Developed by Luminous Productions and published by Square Enix, Forspoken is an action role-playing game that transports a young New Yorker by the name Frey to a beautiful but cruel fantasy world known as Athia. Using her newly discovered powers she must find a way back home. There’s currently a demo for Forspoken available for PS5 and you can check out our impressions from it here. Forspoken will launch exclusively on PS5 on January 24.
Right after that, we have Dead Space on January 27. EA’s Motive Studio has remade the classic survival horror game. It’s the same ploat as the original game, which follows engineer Issac Clarke to a massive planetary mining ship that has gone silent. The Dead Space remake features several new features and additions, including a fully voiced Isaac, no loading sequences, completely free-floating Zero G sequences, some additional new moments to play through and, of course, enhanced visuals, improved gameplay and more.
Monster Hunter Rise is another game to look forward to in January. Formerly available only on Nintendo Switch, the follow-up to Monster Hunter World (though completely unconnected) arrives on PlayStation January 20. Monster Hunter Rise plays quite similar to World but with a few added features, such ass the Wirebug and the verticality it opens up.
