Deadpool in the Marvel’s Midnight Suns: How bad could that be?

I know I’m a little late to the party writing this, but if you’re wondering how good the first part of Marvel’s Midnight Suns season pass is, here we go. The gameplay is more of the same, just with the addition of bizarre humor, fourth wall breaking and Deadpool’s Enfuego System.

The DLC clocks in around at around two to three hours, but I cranked up the difficulty so it took me a little longer than that. However, it is full of more of the great writing from the main game, and its story takes place pretty early on, so if you have the Legendary Edition just laying around and haven’t started, please do and you can play this. The story plays really nicely with the main storyline. While Deadpool doesn’t have any major story beats, he is still available to bring to main missions. His charismatic “charm” is brought to life by none other than Nolan North.

Deadpool’s Enfuego System is the coolest touch for his character, as you will be playing cards to gain enfuego. This allows you to give other cards buffs that range from extra attacks to drawing cards and more. The biggest issue with using Deadpool in battle is his very repetitive queues when he uses abilities. These are kind of annoying for all characters but for Deadpool it is excessive. This DLC also really loves its spawners, and each is a damage sponge, which can lead to long and aggravating battles. The spawners create multiple enemies that can make your cards give you bleed damage which increases the frustration.

However, outside of these frustrations, Deadpool feels like an amazing addition to the Midnight Suns cast and I can’t wait for Venom and what he brings to the party as well. If you haven’t played Midnight Suns and love Marvel, strategy card games, or both, you most definitely should.
