Is Red Dead Redemption getting remastered?

Rockstar Games is known for many great video game franchises, from Grand Theft Auto to Red Dead Redemption. Red Dead Redemption was first released 13 years ago back in 2010. For a long time, there have been lots of talks and rumors about a Red Dead Redemption remaster coming. However, new information may show that a remastered version of Red Dead Redemption may be closer than ever.

Right now, we all know that Rockstar Games is creating Grand Theft Auto 6. We can all safely assume that GTA 6 is their main focus right now. That doesn’t mean they aren’t focusing on other video games though.

Clues leading to a Red Dead Redemption remastered version.

There are many clues leading to the possibility that a Red Dead remaster is coming in the near future. Starting last month, South Korea gave Red Dead a completely new rating. When something like this occurs, there are strong indications that a remaster version of the game is coming since there would be no need for a new rating 13 years later.

On July, 27, 2023, we got even more information that leads us to believe that a Red Dead remaster is approaching. Video game insider Tez2, posted on his Twitter that the new Rockstar Game Website has gone live and added a new reference to the games list.

The new video game title, codename, and new logo, all suggest that we make be getting a blast from the past. Many people are dissecting the codename (RDR1RSP) as Red Dead Redemption 1 Remastered Single Player. This could all be wishful thinking, or this could be genius.

After 13 years from being released a new logo doesn’t really make any sense without reason. Developers that do not plan on doing anything with past video games normally just leave well enough alone. However, since Red Dead Redemption 2 was first released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, a remastered version would look stunning on an Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.

At the end of the day, the video game community is always going to look for signs of Rockstar Games remastering an iconic video game. This is something Red Dead Redemption 2 fans have been wanting for quite a while now. Red Dead Redemption was released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Red Dead Redemption 2 was released on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Meaning that we are due for a Red Dead Release on the next generation consoles, and a Red Dead remaster may be the one in the cards.
