Payday 3 teaser steals the show, lets fans know when to expect more

Payday 3 is still slated to eventually be released sometime this year it would seem and on Monday fans of the long-running series finally got a glimpse into what to expect and when to expect it. Granted, as has been the case since Payday 3 was first announced so many years ago, those same fans still have some waiting to do.

A new teaser trailer was released by Starbreeze Entertainment and Prime Matter on Monday morning. While it certainly has tongues wagging on the internet, it certainly shapes up as more of a tease than anything else.

The video is just 20 seconds long. Its intent appears to be only to let Payday 3 loyalists know when they can see more.

The teaser features some foreboding music and a dark background. In the forefront a man whose face has been obscured by shadow talks to the camera saying, “alright guys, it’s a simple job.”

As the video fades out, it becomes clear just why it was released in the first place. A message in big block letters pops up on the screen telling devoted followers that a full-on gameplay trailer is coming later this summer.

Payday 3 teaser does its job

Those hoping for more are going to have to wait a bit longer. Just when this summer we can expect to finally see the game in action is still unknown.

It seems extremely likely that the Payday 3 footage gamers have been anticipating for almost a decade will hit during this year’s Summer Game Fest. Though that’s just a guess at this point.

Does the trickling out of information mean that a release date for the latest installment of the Payday series is on the way as well? As of now the newest heist game is still expected to release sometime later this year.

It stands to reason the gameplay trailer later this summer would indeed shed light on an expected launch date for Payday 3.
